"Berkeley is very pleased to have these three distinguished alumni contribute to CITRIS. What makes their success as business leaders all the more remarkable is that when they met here at Berkeley in the early 1980s, Weili was a recent immigrant from Shanghai, China and Sehat and Pantas had come here as foreign students from Jakarta, Indonesia," said Paul K. Wright, UC Berkeley Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of CITRIS & the Banatao Institute@CITRIS Berkeley. “Today the Sutardja and Dai families have created a world class organization based on a spirit of innovation. Now, their contribution to Sutardja Dai Hall will help create information technology solutions for many of our most pressing social, environmental and health care concerns."
