The Discovery Innovation series is a complete system-on-chip solution based on Marvell’s Sheeva™ embedded CPU technology. By leveraging Marvell’s highly successful Discovery system controllers and deep expertise in ARM instruction-set-compliant CPUs, the Discovery Innovation SoCs offer one of the highest levels of integration in the industry. The high-performance, low-power, highly integrated processors are ideally suited to a wide range of applications ranging from sophisticated routers, switches, and wireless base stations to high-volume laser printer applications.
Discovery Innovation offers unparalleled integration that makes system design simple and cost efficient. The SoC integrates a high-performance dual-issue CPU with Vector Floating Point (VFP) support, 32KB-instruction and data L1 caches, 512KB unified L2 cache, high-bandwidth DDR2 memory interface, GbE ports, security engine, PCI-Express ports, USB 2.0 ports with PHYs, and SATA ports with PHYs. The innovative, on-chip crossbar architecture with any-to-any connectivity enables concurrent transactions among multiple units that results in high system throughput allowing system designers to create high-performance scalable systems. Discovery Innovation comes in pin-compatible single-core and dual-core versions.
Comprehensive Development Tools
Marvell offers complete development platforms for the Discovery Innovation SoCs, enabling customers to start system development without waiting for their own hardware. Development platforms are available. Complete reference design platforms, including software drivers and board support packages for VxWorks, BSD, and Linux provide a complete toolchain for accelerated customer development.

- MV78200: Dual-core CPU up to 1.2 GHz
- MV78100: Single-core CPU up to 1.2 GHz, pin compatible with MV78200
- MV76100: Single-core CPU up to 800 MHz for cost-sensitive applications
